Clarkstown Police Investigate Death of Woman, Injury to Child at New City Home

UPDATE (6 PM) - The woman found dead today has been identified at 45-year-old Victoria Vovchik.

Clarkstown Police this afternoon are investigating an incident at a northern New City Home, where a woman has been found dead and a child was found injured.

Although the immediate area of the 6 Quarry Drive home is blocked off, police said there is no apparent danger to the public.

Sgt. Glenn Cummings said police were alerted to a problem at the home at about 1:09 p.m. An investigation led to the discovery of a dead woman and a girl who was injured. Cummings said the child was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment of lacerations.

Clarkstown police are currently investigation the nature of the death and the relationship between the dead woman and the child. Additional information was not yet available.
