• Lesson Learned: County Finds Over 90 Percent Of Those Ticketed In School Bus Safety Program Don't Re-Offend (patch.com) — Rockland County’s school bus stop-arm camera program, which includes buses serving New City’s Clarkstown schools, is sharply reducing dangerous passes of stopped buses. Officials report citations dropped more than 30 percent over the 2024-25 school year and about 90 percent of ticketed drivers never reoffend, suggesting stronger safety for children traveling to and from school.
   

• Children Rescued From House Fire In Spring Valley: PD (patch.com) — Children were rescued from a smoky house fire on Stella Drive in Spring Valley, with firefighters from the New City Fire Department among those responding. No serious injuries were reported, but the road was closed for hours as multiple agencies worked the scene and investigators continue to look into the cause.
