Colin Schmitt Issues Statement on Homeland Security
The statement was released Thursday, Oct. 27.

From the Office of Colin Schmitt:
Colin Schmitt, the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party candidate for the 99th Assembly District and former Director of Operations for the NYS Senate Homeland Security Committee, released the following statement today regarding the grave threat to our Homeland Security with the announcement of Syrian refugees being relocated to the Hudson Valley.
“The resettlement of unvetted Syrian refugees to the Hudson Valley serves as a grave national security threat to our state, community and families. The FBI cannot guarantee that there are not terrorists and others who wish to do us harm among the countless number of individuals in the de Blasio/Cuomo/Skoufis resettlement plan.”

“Mayor de Blasio, Governor Cuomo and Assemblyman James Skoufis along with the radical New York City Assembly leadership have laid out the welcome mat for people who we don’t know, from countries that are breeding grounds for terrorism. This is unacceptable.”
“New York City is the number one target of terrorism in the world behind Jerusalem. As our current leadership allows this grave threat to national security in our back yard we must act. I am calling for an immediate halt to Syrian resettlement in the Hudson Valley. Further more I will introduce legislation once elected to block this threat to our national security from continuing or happening again in the future.”
