Cookie Girl Bakes Gourmet Treats (VIDEO)

Step into Cookie Girl Bake Shop and you will understand why owner Stacey Damesek described it as a “fun and happy” place. Anyone entering is tempted by the colorful variety and fresh baked aroma of chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies, cupcakes, brownies, banana loaves, cookie cakes and more. Damesek said in addition to the large selection of treats and cookie cakes ready for purchase, photo cakes and cookies can be special ordered and customized for any occasion. 

Damesek and her two employees bake from scratch using eggs butter, sugar, flour, baking powder and vanilla. They bake cookie pops in star, flower and sports shapes, message pops and cupcake cookies. 

“It’s made by people caring what they do,” she said. 

The New City resident said the crunchy sugared sugar cookies go great with coffee or tea and plain sugar cookies can be bought in different shapes such as t-shirts or animals so children can use colorful edible markers to create their own designs. They can be a birthday party activity or taken home as a favor. She also offers “Party in a Box,” which includes icing and bags for individualized cake or cookie decorations. 

Cookie Girl arranges gift boxes of cookies and brownies that can be customized for the occasion whether a birthday or college acceptance and then mailed. Customers can walk in and arrange a cookie bouquet from a mix of cookie pops, message cookies and cupcake cookies for a housewarming or business opening.

Damesek, who opened Cookie Girl just over two years ago, said one of her newest items is the photo cookie. A family or favorite photo can be duplicated on an individual size cookie as a party favor or a cookie cake for a special occasion. Holiday themed cookies are also available.

Damesek, who had been an art teacher in Tarrytown and Manhattan, began baking cookies for her children’s parties. But when she got so many requests for the cookies for other celebrations, she decided to open her own bake shop.
