Get Glamorous In New City

Nellie Bonville wants to bring glamor to New City. The Plattsburgh area native purchased the former BBR Salon on South Main Street and renovated the interior from floors and walls to furniture in preparation for its January 9th grand opening.

Bonville named the salon “Glamour By Nellie” to reflect her pampering approach to customer service.

Her goal is make clients feel beautiful and confident and her motto is “Come for the Beauty, Stay for the Glamour, Leave with the Attitude!"

Bonville, who now lives in Suffern, worked at BBR for about a year before purchasing it. Prior to that she worked at a salon upstate for almost seven years.

The full service salon will offer hair, makeup, nails and waxing services as well as specials for men and glamour parties for young girls celebrating a birthday, teens celebrating a special event or women enjoying a gals night out. The men’s special will cost $29 for a haircut, scalp massage and manicure on Monday and Wednesday. The glamour parties will range from $25 per girl for a mini manicure and pedicure, light makeup and hair curling or braiding to $65 per woman for a full manicure and pedicure, full makeup application and full blowout.  

“I’m really, really trying to focus on pampering everyone,” she said. 

At Glamour by Nellie the whole staff is friendly and educated in our craft, we keep up with all the latest products and trends so our customers will get the latest styles, said Bonville.

Glamor By Nellie opens at 9:30 a.m. on January 9th at 163 South Main Street. Bonville said she looks forward to welcoming current and prospective customers to show them the new layout. There will be chances to win gift baskets of products and gift certificates.

The original staff remains and Bonville has added several more employees bringing the number to 14 to allow her to open the salon six days a week. She is also keeping the same phone number, 845-634-2505. 

Glamor By Nellie will be open Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments after hours and on Sunday can be made by special request.
