• Updated: State Police ID Driver And Pedestrian Who Was Struck, And Killed On Thruway (patch.com) — Residents near New City are being alerted after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Thursday on the I-87 southbound Exit 14 ramp in Clarkstown, shutting the lane for much of the morning commute. State Police say an Albany man exited his stopped car before being hit by a vehicle driven by an NYPD officer from Nanuet, and the state Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation is now reviewing the case.
   

• Police Rush Children To Safety After House Fire Fills Spring Valley Home With Smoke (dailyvoice.com) — Emergency crews, including New City firefighters, helped rush children to safety after smoke from a small kitchen fire filled a Spring Valley home on Stella Drive. Ramapo Police removed children from the basement, several people were checked for smoke inhalation, and the road was briefly closed to traffic during the response.
