Haverstraw’s Jorge Folch Named WCFR’s New York Hero Award Honoree

Honoring Jorge Folch with WCFR's New York Hero Award for his selfless service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to community.

Nyack, NY – September 4, 2025 – Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. (WCFR) is proud to recognize Jorge Folch as the recipient of the New York Hero Award at its upcoming 10+4 Anniversary & Fundraising Gala.

A retired Town of Haverstraw police officer, Jorge has spent his career serving and protecting Rockland County. Earlier in his career, he also served in the Rockland County correctional system. Today, he continues his commitment to public service as President of both the Rockland County Hispanic Law Enforcement Association and the Policemen’s Benevolent Association of Rockland County.

Under Jorge’s leadership, the Hispanic Law Enforcement Association awards more than $10,000 in scholarships annually, helping local students pursue higher education and leadership opportunities.

Beyond his professional work, Jorge is an active community volunteer. He supports charitable events such as the Rockland Road Runners Turkey Trot, the county’s largest charitable race, and the North Rockland Community Day race, which benefits families facing severe medical hardships. He also lends his time to road cleanups and other grassroots outreach efforts.

Jorge is the proud husband of Ivone Folch and father to Zachary, Jayden, and Xavier. Known for his tireless dedication and community spirit, he is admired as a role model whose service continues to uplift Rockland County.

The WCFR 10+4 Anniversary & Fundraising Gala will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Nyack Seaport, Nyack, NY. The event will celebrate 14 years of WCFR’s lifesaving mission, honor outstanding community leaders, and present the annual WCFR Scholarship Awards.
