Help Bring Holiday Cheer To Rockland's Foster Children

The annual toy and gift drive for the kids served by the county's Department of Social Services begins Friday. Here's how to donate.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The 7th Annual Toy and Clothing Drive, which takes place each year to ensure that every child in Rockland County has a gift to open for the holidays, begins Friday and runs through Dec. 19.

Toys and gifts are requested for children from newborn to age 18.

"Rockland’s children in foster care and those currently receiving our services are facing difficult life events and the holiday season is always particularly challenging," Commissioner Joan Silvestri of the Department of Social Services said in an announcement about the drive. "A donation of a toy or clothing can make all the difference in improving the lives of these children."
