Homeless Man Admits Fatally Stabbing Library Security Guard Who Asked Him To Turn His Music Down
The judge promised Glaudin 20 years to life in state prison on the second-degree murder charge, while prosecutors recommended 25 to life.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A guilty plea has been reached in the 2020 slaying that shocked a Hudson Valley community.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II announced that 31-year-old Blanchard Glaudin, homeless, pleaded guilty to felony second-degree murder related to the killing of Sandra Wilson, a library security guard.
On Tuesday, Glaudin admitted in Rockland County Court that on February 18, 2020, around 2 p.m., while at the Finkelstein Library, in Spring Valley, he stabbed Wilson with a knife in her chest and body, causing her death.

Wilson had been working on the library's third floor, near the computer terminals, when she was stabbed. Police said at the time that Glaudin stabbed Wilson after she told him to turn his music down.
Nearby library patrons jumped on the man whom police said had a knife in his hand. Wilson was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she died.

The judge promised Glaudin 20 years to life in state prison on the second-degree murder charge, while prosecutors recommended 25 to life.
"The defendant, Blanchard Glaudin, pled guilty to murder in the second degree for the senseless killing of a library security guard, a well-respected member of her community," Walsh said. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family."
Glaudin was remanded without bail to the Rockland County Jail and awaits sentencing, which is scheduled for Feb. 26.
