Knife-Wielding Masked Robber Holds Up Spring Valley Business: Police

Police made an arrest in the case on Monday.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Nanuet resident is accused of robbing a Total Wireless store employee at knifepoint Friday night.

Alex Orbe-Jaramillo, 32, has been charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to Detective Sgt. Randy DiPaolo.

Police were summoned Friday around 7:25 p.m. for a report of a robbery at the 39 South Main St. business.

The victim told police a masked man entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded money. The victim handed over more than $3,600 in cash from the register. The suspect then fled the scene, according to police.

Police took Orbe-Jaramillo into custody on Monday, police said.
