Man Accused Of Attempted Murder After Violent Robbery In Ramapo: PD

The victim sustained serious injuries after being robbed at knifepoint, according to police.

RAMAPO, NY — A Spring Valley resident is facing attempted murder and other charges after a woman was seriously injured during a knifepoint robbery Monday night, police said.

Emmanuel Michel, 47, of Spring Valley has been charged with second-degree attempted murder. He also faces assault, robbery, stalking, weapon and possession of stolen property-related charges.

He was arraigned in Ramapo Town Court Wednesday and remains in custody.

Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins said the attack happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday on East Hickory Street in the Hillcrest area of town.

The victim told police she was approached by a man wearing a mask and dark clothing. The man threatened her with a knife and robbed her before fleeing, police said.

The woman sustained “serious” injuries during the robbery and was taken to a local hospital, police said.
