Mendoza-Raymundo was arraigned Thursday in Suffern Justice Court on the new charges and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
Mendoza-Raymundo was originally charged with second-degree vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting serious physical injury, driving while intoxicated per se, and driving while intoxicated.
Police Lt. William Simurra said the accident happened around 4:23 p.m. on Aug. 16, on Lafayette Avenue near Woodland Drive.
An off-duty police sergeant saw the hit-and-run accident and quickly captured the driver after he fled the area, according to police. Emergency personnel rushed the woman to a local hospital, but she died days later, on Wednesday.
