When we drive up Route 287 or Route 17 in Bergen and Rockland counties, we are passing a piece of history that George Washington knew well: the Ramapo Pass. He wrote in his logbook that it was of vital importance that the Ramapo Pass remain in American possession.

Craig H. Long, the guest speaker at this year's History Luncheon, will share with us this important piece of Revolutionary War history.
