Ramapo Police Report 2 Odd Drunken Driving Arrests Overnight
One involved a driver unsure of how she had gotten onto a lawn; the other involved a driver who demanded the police officer shoot him.
RAMAPO, NY — Town of Ramapo police officers reported two incidents overnight after which the motorists were charged with more than driving while intoxicated.
At 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Haverstraw Road in Montebello for a report of an occupied vehicle on the caller’s lawn. The officer found the car, on the lawn, by the front door.
The motorist told the officer that she didn’t know how she wound up on the lawn. The officer observed pills scattered over the front seat and the driver showed signs of intoxication, police said.

The 30-year-old Wesley Hills resident was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Aggravated DWI with a test result twice the legal limit.
At 2:30 a.m. Thursday, an officer stopped a vehicle in Hillcrest for a traffic violation.

The driver exited the car, was aggressive and confrontational, and shouted at the officer to shoot him. The officer was forced into a physical encounter to control him, police said.
The driver, a 48-year-old Nanuet resident, was transported to the hospital for evaluation. He is being charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration, Disorderly Conduct, and DWI.
