Ramapo Police Stop Car Sought After Stony Point Shoplifting Incident

Two people from New York City now face charges, Stony Point police said.

STONY POINT, NY — Ramapo police stopped a vehicle sought by Stony Point police after a shoplifting incident at a CVS.

The Stony Point police called to the drugstore viewed surveillance camera footage of two people leaving without paying for merchandise valued at $2,035.00. Officers put over a description of the vehicle the suspects left in — and a short time later a vehicle matching that description was stopped by Ramapo police.

After a brief investigation, both were placed under arrest.

Jhohan Pierdrahita-Lopez, a 34-year-old from Queens, and Rafeal Suarez-Hernandez, a 27-year-old from Brooklyn, face charges of fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, and fifth degree conspiracy.

They are due back in Stony Point Justice Court on Jan. 18.
