SLOATSBURG, NY — Eagle-eyed members of the Sloatsburg Fire Department noted an overnight visitor and checked it out.
Rockefeller Center officials had announced Nov. 1 that this year's Christmas tree was found in Broome County.
The 80-foot-tall Norway spruce was cut down Thursday in Vestal, wrapped up and put on a very long trailer for its trip to New York City.

After it’s wrapped in more than 50,000 lights and crowned with a star, the tree will be lighted during a live television broadcast on Nov. 29. It will be on display until Jan. 13, 2024, the Associated Press reported.
The fire department loved even a horizontal view, and their commenters filled in some details from Vestal and the early part of the journey.
