
Rockland County acknowledges Emergency Medical Services Week on Sunday with the Third Annual Youth Squad EMS Competition and EMS Awards Ceremony. In celebration of EMS Week, May 19th through 25th, the county will host the competition at 1 p.m. and awards ceremony at 5 p.m. at the Fire Training Center in Pomona. During the ceremony several EMS Providers will be recognized for their contributions to their EMS agencies, communities, and county.
Along with providers’ families and friends, officials and community leaders will attend the ceremony. County EMS Coordinator Kim Lippes will also present awards to Members of the Year for each EMS Agency, and trophies to the winners of the Youth Competition.
The honorees include:
- Pamela Brown-Thompson for Basic Life Support Provider of the Year
- Glen Albin for Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year
- Katherine Zoda for Youth Member of the Year
- Piermont Fire Department 13-EM for EMS Agency of the Year
- Teri Hamilton for EMS Leadership Award
- Ralph Lee Sentell for EMS Educator of Excellence
- Adam Feuer for EMS Communications Specialist of the Year
- Linda Dietterich for Registered Professional Nurse of Excellence
- Dr. Joan Facelle, MD for Physician of Excellence
- South Orangetown Ambulance for Excellence in EMS Quality and Safety Award.
