The Rockland County Legislature will vote Tuesday night on a number of measures to repair or improve infrastructure. Some of the funding is already included in capital budgets; other monies will come from the issuing on bonds. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
The resolutions include increasing funding for replacement of the sheriff’s building roof by $450,000 for a total of $1.3 million and authorizing a bond. The cost to replace the Oak Creek Bridge over Sparkill Creek in Orangetown also increased. Legislators will vote on increasing the financing by $350,000 to a total of $2,9568,000 and issuing bonds equal to the total. The county expects to receive reimbursement of $2,808,960 from the federal or state government for the work.
Additional bonds up for vote involve partial reconstruction of Buildings A and L at the Yeager Health Center for $500,000 and $300,000 respectively.
They will set a public hearing date for the 2013-2014 Rockland Community College budget.
Other items include approving an agreement for the review of the fiscal year 2014 budget with O’Connor Davies LLP for $104,000 and asking the state legislature to revamp the college chargeback system so counties are not paying for the tuition of students attending FIT’s bachelor and master’s degree programs. They will vote on extending the agreement for the Summit Park Hospital & Nursing Care Center audit with KPMG LLP to the end of the year at a cost of $207,500.
The annual 2012 report for the Sheriff’s Office will be submitted.
