Rockland Psychiatric Patient Indicted in Attack on Another Patient

A Rockland Psychiatric Center patient has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on charges that he attacked a fellow patient at the Orangeburg facility and stabbed him with a pen.
Kurt Grdich, 41, is charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the June 11 incident. He is accused of throwing a 52-year-old patient to the floor at the hospital and then stabbing the man repeatedly with a pen.
According to the police, Grdich attacked the victim in back of the head, the left eye and the back of the left hand. The victim, who did not sustain life-threatening injuries, was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment.
