Rockland County is under a severe thunderstorm watch lasting until 9 p.m. tonight. The National Weather Service issued the watch just after 1 p.m. The county’s Office of Fire & Emergency Services released an advisory about the potential for turbulent weather including strong winds with gusts up to 70 mph and hail as large as 1.5 inches in size.
