School Board Incumbents Carlucci, Hoeneveld Running; No Challengers

Current Clarkstown School Board trustees are seeking re-election

 

Clarkstown Central School District Trustees Diane Hoeneveld and Robert Alan Carlucci are running unopposed for re-election. The petition deadline was Monday at 5 p.m. Hoeneveld filed earlier this month and Carlucci filed his petition on Friday.

Three other petitions were picked up according to District Clerk Lilyane Lorusso but were not filed.

Carlucci is completing his first three-year term. Hoeneveld, presently the board vice president, is finishing her third three-year term. Hoeneveld is a West Nyack resident and Carlucci lives in New City. Hoeneveld is a former longtime Strawtown Elementary School teacher and Carlucci owns an insurance agency in New City and founded the Condors Swim Club.

The school board's next meeting is Tuesday at 8 p.m. The regular meeting will be followed by a workshop on the 2013-2014 budget and then a vote on the adopting the budget. The school board elections and school budget vote take place on May 21.

Hoeneveld and Carlucci’s current terms end on June 30. The terms for school board trustees elected in May begin on July 1. 

School board candidates were required to have 94 signatures of residents of the Clarkstown Central School District. The number of required signatures equals two percent of the 4,686 votes cast in the 2012 school board election and budget vote.
