School Bus Swerves To Avoid Crash, Strikes Guiderail In Stony Point
Authorities said no students, who were coming back from a field trip, were injured.
STONY POINT, NY — A crash in Stony Point involving a school bus is under investigation in Rockland County.
The New York State Police, around 12:30 p.m. Monday, troopers were sent to a reported motor vehicle crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Stony point.
Authorities said the investigation found that a box truck travelling south on the parkway struck the Exit 16 overpass.

A bus behind the truck brakes and rapidly slowed down to avoid a collision with the truck, police said.

The Bnos Esther Popa school bus was bringing Yeshiva Tzoin Yosef school students back from a field trip and sustained only minor damage, police said.
None of the students were hurt, and they were transferred to other Bnos Esther Popa buses that were returning from the same field trip.
State police said no tickets were issued.
