Shooting In Hudson Valley Home Stemmed From Domestic Dispute: Police

A 28-year-old Haverstraw man was charged with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon.

HAVERSTRAW, NY — A man in Rockland County has been shot in what police are describing as a domestic dispute.

The Haverstraw Police Department says that on Monday, around 4:34 p.m., officers responded to a home on Mackey Court, in the Village of West Haverstraw, after receiving a report about an ongoing domestic dispute between two men, involving a weapon.

At the scene, police found a man insided the home who had been shot. The victim was rushed to the hospital.

The suspect, 28-year-old Tevin Williams, who lives at the home, was arrested and taken to the Haverstraw Police Department for processing.

He was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm.

Williams was arraigned in the Village of West Haverstraw Justice Court where he was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.

The Haverstraw Police Department was assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office BCI, the FBI–Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, and the Rockland County Intelligence Center.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
