Spring Valley Woman Charged In Local Stabbing: PD

A man was critically injured in the Aug. 19 attack, according to police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A local woman was arrested this week in connection with an Aug. 19 stabbing which critically injured a male victim, police said.

Police arrested Shanice Ramsay, 30, of Spring Valley on Monday. According to police, Ramsay was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Ramsay is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree attempted robbery, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they discovered fentanyl on Ramsay during her arrest.

Ramsay was arraigned before Judge James Mellion of the Spring Valley Justice Court. Ramsay did not immediately post bail and was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.

The Aug. 19 attack happened around 1:15 a.m. in the area of 11 E. Church St. Responding officers found the victim bleeding from multiple lacerations and a stab wound. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition, police said. His current condition was not immediately available.
