TOR Loop #2 Changes On Sunday
Revamped circular bus route in Monsey will operate in both directions

Transport of Rockland (TOR) Loop #2 bus service will change on Sunday with the addition of bi-directional service to the current bus route. Loop #2 provides transportation to shopping centers in Monsey and transfer options to other bus service on Route 59. County transportation officials said the improvement enables them to serve more riders, makes the service more efficient by helping passengers reach their destinations quicker and spend less time waiting for and riding on the bus.
The revision came about as a result of redevelopment of existing properties and an analysis of local bus service. The new Loop #2 service will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. instead of 7 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. The new schedule adds midday service to meet greater demand, and eliminates two early morning trips and four evening trips that had low or no ridership.

“With this improvement, trips will take less time and passengers will not need to wait as long for the next bus,” said Planning & Public Transportation Commissioner Thomas Vanderbeek. “The improvement will also add a new “front door” stop at Amazing Savings and other stores located in the newly redesigned Town Square shopping center.”
The revised route includes Route 306 and all other previous stops. From Shopper’s Haven Mall on Route 306, the Eastbound Loop #2 will travel on Route 59 to serve the Town Square. It will then stop at the Atrium Plaza before entering local streets in Monsey via Robert Pitt Drive before returning to Shopper’s Haven.

The Westbound Loop #2 bus will depart from Shopper’s Haven Mall in the opposite direction, traveling on Route306 to serve Blueberry Hill Apartments and several other housing complexes, then through Monsey on the same streets as the eastbound bus but in the opposite direction.
Passengers can choose to ride in whichever direction gets them to their destination quickest. Since the loop route is now bi-directional, passengers will not have to wait at Shopper’s Haven for the bus to “lay over.” Loop #2 schedules can be found here.
