Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Food Bank Truck Unloading

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
This week we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
Food Bank Truck Unloading
Together Our Unity Can Heal (TOUCH) is looking for dedicated individuals to help unload food from the Regional Food Bank for Rocklanders facing food insecurity and chronic illness. Volunteers can give an hour to make a difference on the first and third Wednesday of each month to make a real difference in neighbors' lives.
Date: 4/2 from 12-1 p.m.; Wednesdays

Food Pantry Volunteers
Peekskill Community Action Partnership (Peekskill CAP) is seeking volunteers to assist with its food pantry. Those who are bilingual (Spanish-English) are especially welcome! Volunteers can help register clients, retrieve food deliveries, sort food, organize shelves, and more.
Date: 4/2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Location: Peekskill
Cleanup at Marshlands Conservancy
Volunteers will remove litter and debris from the trails at Marshlands Conservancy. No experience is necessary and all supplies will be provided. This is perfect for youth volunteers and those who need community service hours.
Date: 4/3 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; register by 4/2

Public Relations Manager
The Martin Luther King Freedom Library is seeking a Public Relations Manager who is passionate about connecting with the community and spreading the word about the library's many resources and services. The volunteer will plan and coordinate events, develop publicity campaigns, write press releases, and more. Volunteers must be 20+.
