Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Wildflower Island Tour Guides
Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.
This week we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
Wildflower Island Tour Guides (Info Session)
Teatown Lake Reservation is hosting an in-person information session to introduce new volunteers to its Wildflower Island Guide program. Prospective volunteers will have an opportunity to learn about the program and tour Wildflower Island to see if becoming a guide is the right fit. Volunteers joining the information session should wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear to walk out to Wildflower Island on a trail.

Vine Cutting at Danner Family Preserve
Volunteers are needed to cut invasive vines and vegetation throughout Danner Family Preserve to help protect native trees and support forest health. Volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long sleeves, as well as bring a water bottle. Work gloves and tools will be provided.

Board Member (Treasurer)
The Trip Foundation funds field trips to give public high school students in underserved communities an opportunity to explore a world beyond their own, broaden their intellectual and cultural horizons, and inspire them to become global citizens. It is seeking a Treasurer to serve on the Board of Directors to help support its mission. Volunteers must be 30+.

Grant Writer
A Grant Writer is needed to help research grant opportunities and prepare proposals in order to support programs that provide leadership development, career advancement, and continued education for women. This is a great opportunity to address and improve the quality of life for women and girls. Volunteers must be 25+.
