Votes On West Nyack Library Budget, New City Library Trustees, Budget

CLARKSTOWN, NY — The annual combined New City/West Nyack Library Budget Vote and Board of Trustee Election will be held on Wednesday.

Due to the staggered terms of the trustees, there are three positions open on the New City Library board. Seven candidates are running:

• Joseph Ciardullo
• Roxana Ivonne Halo
• Casey Matteson
• Nicholas J. Longo, Jr.
• Roxanne T. Perrone
• Ritza Santiago
• Bonnie Winograd

Longo, Perrone and Ciardullo are running as a team.

For the trustee election and New City Library budget vote, polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the New City Library, 220 North Main St., New City, NY 10956.

Expenses are going up slightly for the New City Library: to $6,024,310 from $5,848,591. Most of the increase — $119,140 — is for the recent renovation.

For the West Nyack Free Library budget vote, polls will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 65 Strawtown Road, West Nyack, NY 10994. Expenses are going up just $36,281 to $1,382,828 from $1,346,547.

In both cases, the snow date is Dec. 20.

The budget vote is administered by the Clarkstown school district. The only remaining way to obtain an absentee ballot for the budget vote is in person by Tuesday at the district clerk's office. Call 845-639-6455 for more information.
