Weekend Shooting Leaves Man Dead In Spring Valley: PD

The victim was killed on Saturday evening, according to police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A 20-year-old man was shot to death Saturday evening, according to police.

Police said the shooting happened around 5:12 p.m. in the area of 2 Dutch Lane.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR until emergency medical service personnel arrived.

The victim was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not yet released the name of the victim.

Meanwhile, police said there was another report of shots fired in Spring Valley on Saturday, around 11:57 p.m., in the area of Robert Pitt Drive.

Police found numerous shell casings in a parking lot at 59 Robert Pitt Dr. Gunshots struck occupied apartments and an unoccupied parked vehicle, according to police. In that shooting, no injuries were reported. Police said that incident is also still under investigation.

Police did not say if they believe there is any relationship between the two shooting incidents.
