Wind Blows Roof Off Chicken Coop At Cropsey Farm
Luckily, nobody was hurt, the director told Patch. But the Rockland Farm Alliance needs donations now to cover the damages.

NEW CITY, NY — The executive director of the Rockland Farm Alliance was just sitting down to compose a newsletter when she heard a clatter and the cry of startled chickens.
Monday's gusty winds had blown off the roof of the chicken coop at Cropsey Farm.
"Luckily no one was hurt! Thank you for asking!" Sue Ferreri told Patch.

Still, if that wasn't an indicator of the need the RFA has this year, she doesn't know what is, she said in a quickly-sent-out email to the nonprofit's mailing list.
"The weather has been unruly in the past two years. It has affected our farming but now also it has affected our animals and their safety too," she wrote. "Today we are fixing the roof and could genuinely use your support."

The RFA is seeking to raise $500 immediately to make temporary repairs.
"But, because of the damage we will need to rebuild the entire coop which will cost us anywhere from $2,000 - 3,000," she said.
