Woman Hospitalized After Violent Robbery In Ramapo: PD

The suspect remained at large as of early Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

RAMAPO, NY — A woman was seriously injured during a knife-point robbery and assault in the Hillcrest area of town Monday night, police said.

Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins said the attack happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday on East Hickory Street.

The victim told police she was approached by an unidentified man wearing a mask and dark clothing. The man threatened her with a knife and robbed her before fleeing the area, police said.

The woman sustained “serious” injuries during the robbery and was taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The attack remains under investigation, and police are seeking tips from the public.
