2 Men Burglarize Nassau Shop, Attack Elderly Witness; $125K In Motorcycles Stolen: PD

A man walking his dog witnessed the burglary, and the two men attacked him, threatened him and restrained him, police say.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Two Brooklyn men were arrested after Nassau police said they attacked an elderly man while burglarizing a motorsports shop in New Hyde Park in August.

Tristan Livingston, 27, and Justin St. Hill, 27, broke into Gold Coast Motorsports, at 2070
Jericho Turnpike, around 4:25 a.m. Aug. 13, police said. The duo stole five motorcycles valued at roughly $125K, police said.

During the burglary, a 75-year-old man was walking his dog and saw Livingston and St. Hill breaking into the business, police said. The duo assaulted the man, threatened and restrained him, preventing him from leaving, police said. The man eventually escaped after a prolonged struggle with St. Hill and Livingston, police said.

St. Hill and Livingston were found and apprehended at their home in Brooklyn on Tuesday by the Nassau County Police Departments Major Case Squad along with members of the New York and New Jersey U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, police said.

Both men were charged with one count of second-degree burglary, one count of second-degree kidnapping, and two counts of second-degree assault.

They were arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.

Livingston has a prior arrest history, including charges of criminal possession of a weapon and forgery, the department said.

St. Hill's prior arrest history includes charges of third-degree burglary, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
