4 Kittens Found Abandoned In Cardboard Box On Sidewalk Rescued On Memorial Day On LI
The kittens appeared to be unharmed and the officers took them to the Town of North Hempstead's Animal Shelter, Nassau police say.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Four young kittens on Long Island had a rough Memorial Day until two police officers swooped in.
Police received several reports that "multiple kittens" were abandoned in a cardboard box on the sidewalk of Freeman Avenue Elmont, and they were found by a pair of officers at around 3:45 p.m., according to police.
The kittens appeared to be unharmed and the officers took them to a local animal shelter, police said.
