Cops: Man Robs New Hyde Park Gas Station at Gunpoint
A similar occurred in Thomaston, police say.

A man robbed a New Hyde Park gas station at gunpoint Monday evening, authorities said.
Nassau detectives say a man, armed with a black handgun, entered the BP Gas Station located at 1301 Jericho Turnpike at 5:45 p.m., and demanded cash from the male attendant. The suspect fired one round from the weapon into the counter before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash. He fled on foot, heading north on Abraham Lane. There were no injuries reported.
The suspect is described as approximately 5’7” tall and 160 pounds. His head and faced were covered and was wearing dark gloves, a dark jacket and gray pants, police say.

A similar robbery was reported shortly after in Thomaston, according to police, with the suspect also firing a round inside another BP station. No one was injured in that incident.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
