QUEENS, NY — Cohen Children's Medical Center welcomed Auli‘i Cravalho, voice of Moana in the Disney animated films of the same name.

It was part of Halloween event for children with Disney and Starlight Children's Foundation.

Cravalho came to the hospital and surprised patients, who had gathered in the atrium for a not-so-scary Disney Halloween event.

Children were coloring Disney-themed pictures, picking up books and toys and were able to take home costumes to wear for Halloween. Cravalho spent time speaking and coloring with the children in the atrium before heading upstairs to meet patients in their rooms.

"It means everything to be bringing some holiday spirit here. These kids are so much fun. They’re so brave and strong," said Cravalho. "I’m really grateful to have spent the day with them. I’m grateful to have joined that community – even just for a day."

Earlier this year, Disney kicked off an initiative to donate a Halloween costume to Starlight Children’s Foundation for each one purchased on DisneyStore.com. Additionally, Starlight has delivered costumes to 450 children’s hospitals across the country, including Cohen Children’s Medical Center.
