Fight In Nassau Leads To Teen Stabbed In Arm: Police

A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged while in a hospital, police said.

NEW CASSEL, NY — A teenager was taken into custody for a fight involving up to 20 youths in New Cassel, police said.

By the time police arrived on Monday afternoon, the crowd had dispersed. One male victim, 13, had gotten into an argument with a 15-year-old boy, who pulled out a knife and the stabbed the victim in the arm, police said.

An investigation led police to locate the 15-year-old at a hospital with a laceration to his finger. He was placed under arrest without incident, police said.

He was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
