Hurricane Ida Disaster Assistance Now Offered In New Hyde Park
New Hyde Park home and business owners who suffered damage after Hurricane Ida are now eligible for emergency federal relief funds.
NEW HYDE PARK, NY — People in New Hyde Park who suffered damage to their homes or businesses because of Hurricane Ida are now eligible for emergency federal relief funds.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently added Nassau County to its federal emergency declaration, which means residents and business owners in the Town of North Hempstead can now receive the critical resources they need to recover from this month's storm.
"(P)arts of North Hempstead sustained significant flooding and damage as a result of Tropical Storm Ida," Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth said. "Recovering from something like this can be overwhelming, and it is so important that those who live and work in North Hempstead have the opportunity to receive financial aid to help to support them in this process."
