Man Charged with Robbing New Hyde Park Store at Gunpoint

Police say they arrested the man Thursday for an incident that occurred on March 10.

A Hempstead man was arrested early Thursday and charged with robbing a New Hyde Park store at gunpoint, authorities said.

Nassau Police say Joseph Eulo, 48, entered the Metro PCS cellphone store located at 414 Hillside Avenue on March 10 and threatened a 39-year-old male employee with a gun while demanding money.

The employee, who was alone at the time, complied and gave Eulo an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

After an investigation Third Squad detectives assisted by Bureau of Special Operations Officers arrested Eulo at his home on Thursday at 12:35 a.m. without incident, police said.

Eulo is charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was scheduled for arraignment on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
