Man Dies From Injuries In Nassau Hit And Run Crash: Police

The 48-year-old victim was walking on Hempstead Turnpike, early Sunday, when he struck by a car, police said.

ELMONT, NY — A man has died from injuries sustained from a hit-and-run crash last weekend in Elmont, Nassau police said.

The victim is identified as Patricio Rodriguez–Hayes, 48, of Queens Village, police said on Friday.

Before daybreak on Sunday, Rodriguez-Hayes was crossing Hempstead Turnpike at Elmont Road, when a sedan hit him and fled the scene, authorities said.

Rodriguez-Hayes had been in critical condition.
