Man Tries To Rob Floral Park Bank

Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred in Floral Park on Monday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, a man entered Citibank, located at 215 Jericho Turnpike, approached a teller and passed her a note demanding money at 1 p.m. The man then fled the bank northbound on Hinsdale Avenue without proceeds, police say.

Police described the attempted robber as between 20 to 25 years old, about 5 foot 6 inches tall and with a thin build. He was wearing a black hat, black sunglasses, black jacket with a white shirt and red tie. The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this attempted robbery to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800 -244-TIPS or dial 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
