More Bed Bath & Beyond, Harmon Stores Close On Long Island
It's the latest wave by the company to stave off bankruptcy.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Another round of closures for housewares chain Bed Bath & Beyond will impact Long Island. In addition, all the company's Harmon's drug stores are set to shutter.
In Nassau County, the stores closing are:
- Bed Bath & Beyond, Union Turnpike in New Hyde Park
- Harmon, Hicksville Road in Massapequa
- Harmon, Old Country Road in Plainview
- Harmon, Jericho Turnpike in Mineola
- Harmon, Old Country Road in Carle Place

- Bed Bath & Beyond, Jericho Turnpike in East Northport
- Bed Bath & Beyond, Montauk Highway in West Babylon
- Bed Bath & Beyond, Sunrise Highway in Bohemia
- Harmon, Walt Whitman Road in Melville
- Harmon, Veterans Highway in Commack
Overall, 87 additional locations are set for shutdown across 30 states. This is the third wave of closures since September as Bed Bath & Beyond attempts to avoid bankruptcy.
Last August, Bed Bath & Beyond officials said the chain would close about 150 of its more than 900 locations nationwide, as it sought to climb out of its financial hole. The company has defaulted on some loans, and it reportedly is looking at restructuring its debt in bankruptcy court.

Reuters reported that Bed Bath & Beyond Inc is preparing to seek bankruptcy protection, which could come this week. The retail giant reportedly has liquidators ready to close more stores in the event it can't find a buyer.
