NHP Resident Presented Angela Powers Award

The former president of the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce was presented the award last week.

An involved member of the community was recently awarded the Angela Powers Award.

Mark Laytin, an active member and former president of the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, was presented the award on Thursday, Dec. 20 at the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce holiday party held at Jonathan's restaurant in Garden City Park.

Chamber president Jeanette Frisina presented the award to Laytin. “Mark consistently goes above and beyond for our chamber," Frisina said. "He has a unique sense of knowing when we need assistance and is right there to offer help without us ever having to ask him, it is with great pleasure to present this award to him. It is much deserved.”

Laytin is very active in the chamber, and serves as co-chair of the Marketing Committee and on the Golf and Benevolence Committees. He has been an active member for 15 years and is the owner operator of ML Marketing which is a marketing and Quickbooks consulting firm.

The award was originally given to Angela Powers in 2015 for her exemplary service to the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce. Powers was the first woman president of the Chamber, and served the organization for nearly 50 years.
