Northwell Health Opens State-Of-The-Art $6 Million Operating Room
The 956-square-foot space will be used for advanced vascular procedures.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Northwell Health’s Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center's state-of-the-art operating room is now active for advanced vascular procedures.
The newly renovated 956-square-foot space took nearly six months to complete with a price tag of more than $6 million. It features an advanced suite of software and equipment, such as Brainlab’s digital integration system, Siemens imaging platforms and Skytron’s advanced lighting system.
The hybrid OR is one of 28 ORs at LIJ that handle the most complex cases in Nassau and Queens counties.

“We are very excited that our new state-of-the-art hybrid operating room has opened,”
said Dr. Mathew Foley, medical director, LIJ. “This operating room allows us to expand our
vascular surgery capabilities and has improved our vascular imaging technology in the OR."
Advanced X-ray technology inside the hybrid OR will allow LIJ vascular surgeons to better target complex aortic aneurysm repairs, carotid stenting of dangerous stroke-causing blockages and
limb-threatening peripheral arterial disease.
