Resident Rescued From House Fire In Elmont: Nassau Police

Firefighters from the Elmont and Malverne departments responded.

ELMONT, NY — A 58-year-old man was evacuated safely from a house fire Wednesday afternoon on Froehlich Place, Nassau police reported.

Firefighters from the Elmont and Malverne departments responded to the residential fire called in at 5:55 p.m., police said.

The blaze spread to a neighboring house's detatched garage before firefighters knocked it down. It caused extensive damage to the home, police said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad Detectives responded to the scene. Their investigation is ongoing.
