Temple Tikvah Hosts First Adult Confirmation

held its first adult confirmation ceremony on June 23, welcoming 8 women fully into the faith.

The women completed their spiritual journey with their confirmation service at a Shabbat Service held at the temple as each woman led a part of the service, read from the Torah and described their own path to this special accomplishment.

Rabbi Randy Sheinberg and Cantor Guy Bonne participated along with the Confirmands: Ruth Cooperman (Fresh Meadow), Lois Howard (New Hyde Park), Robin Jacobson (New Hyde Park), Sue Kane Moston (Albertson), Barbara Orville (Great Neck), Sandy Portnoy (New Hyde Park), Carol Reiter (New Hyde Park) and Helaine Schachter (New Hyde Park).
