Voters Approve NHP-GCP Budget, Elect Trustees

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

New Hyde Park - Garden City Park residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.

The $39,246,850 budget passed with 469 yes votes and 281 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 2.70 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.92 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also re-elected David Del Santo and Jennifer DeRocchis, who both ran unopposed, to the NHP-GCP Board of Education.
