Voter's Guide: NHP-GCP 2018-19 School Budget, Board Election

​What you need to know for election day.

Those who reside within the area of New Hyde Park - Garden City Park schools will vote on the district's $39,246,850 proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday, May 15.

The proposal calls for a 2.70 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 2.92 percent, which is the tax levy cap.

Two candidates are running unopposed for two open seats on the NHP-GCP Board of Education. They are incumbents David Del Santo and Jennifer DeRocchis, according to Newsday.

NHP-GCP residents are responsible for approximatley 26 percent of the Sewanhaka Central High School District tax levy.
