Woman, 78, Run Over, Killed After Falling In Nassau Parking Lot: PD

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — Police have identified a woman who was run over and killed after falling in a North New Hyde Park parking lot Friday as Diane Russ, 78, of Springfield Gardens.

According to Nassau County police, the incident took place at 2:44 p.m.

According to detectives, Russ was walking in the parking lot of 2201 New Hyde Park Road and fell. She was then run over by a 2019 Nissan, driven by a 49-year-old man, police said.

She was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, police said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and no charges were filed, police said.
