Woman Struck, Killed By Drunken Driver In Nassau: Police

LAKE SUCCESS, NY — A North New Hyde Park man was arrested for a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Friday night in Lake Success, police said.

A 61-year-old woman while attempting to cross Lakeville Road was struck by a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound, police said.

The victim, identified as Lidia Rivera, of Hempstead, was taken to an area hospital where was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An investigation determined that the driver was intoxicated.

Rajvir Singh Bharaj, 32, was arrested near the scene of the incident, police said.
He is charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of incident and driving while intoxicated, police said.

He will was expected to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
