New Rochelle Seeking Volunteers To Help Clean 13 Parks In 2 Days
New Rochelle Parks and Recreation is again partnering with Volunteer New York! for the 9th annual parks clean-up weekend.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — It's time for a little spring cleaning and the City of New Rochelle is looking to the community to lend a hand.
Volunteer New York! and the City of New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department are joining forces again for a massive citywide clean-up and beautification project at 13 neighborhood and waterfront parks over two days in April. The two days of community service are planned as a follow-up to Earth Week celebrations on April 26 and 27, and will also take place during Global Volunteer Month.

"Our upcoming Earth Month cleanup weekend is a great opportunity for the community to come together and help prepare over a dozen sites for the influx of visitors during warmer months," Parks and Recreation Commissioner Vin Parise said in a statement announcing plans for the huge annual undertaking. "Our parks and natural areas are vital for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment and enhance the vibrancy of our City. We are thankful for the ongoing partnership that we have with Volunteer New York! and to all the community members who will lend a hand this year."
The Parks Clean-up Weekend is open to all New Rochelle community members. Depending on the site, volunteers will help with beach clean-up, trash removal, care for woodlands, perform trail maintenance, weed playgrounds, paint benches or picnic tables.
